Partial List of Possible Reactions from Routine Vaccinations
· Low grade fever is common after vaccinations for 24-48 hours
· Soreness at injection site and/or sore joints
· Lump where vaccination was given (cat will rarely develop a tumor at vaccination site)
· Inflammation of the eye – also known as Iritis
· Acute Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia – this occurs in dogs only
· Anaphylaxis – this is an acute allergic reaction (ie hives, facial swelling, vomiting, difficulty breathing)
If you notice any reaction, call us and we will most likely have you bring your pet back in to see the veterinarian. A veterinarian is on duty Wednesday and Saturday from 8:30am – 2pm.
